Today we connect with the energy of the sea gull. What does this photograph conjure for you? 

People often have strong feelings about sea gulls. Some find them annoying and others find them relaxing because they are associated with water.  In Animal Speak, Ted Andrews discusses how sea gulls are shore birds and rarely venture far from land.  Shore lines, he says, are magical and mysterious in that they are neither land nor sea, but between the two.

Balsamic moon phases are magical and mysterious, too, and they also are neither part of the last lunar cycle nor part of the next lunar cycle, but between the two.  Shorelines and Balsamic Moon phases are part of the Netherworld or the Spiritworld.  In keeping with the energy, we are going to get magical and mysterious today as well.

Gulls are creatures of two domains: air and sea.  They are masters of both.  When we work with their energy, we work in two realms, too.  With air, we work with communication and ideas or visions.  With sea, we work with emotions and the vast world of Spirit.

Sea gulls are associated with communication, proper behavior, and courtesy.  Gulls teach us how to “read” other people’s true motivations in communication and their true energy (things that are not easily discernable).  They also teach the importance of proper diet (diets of all kinds: thoughts, emotions, and nutrition).

So today we are reading between the lines, picking up subtleties, shoring things up, nourishing ourselves properly with food, and mentally traveling in and out of spirit.

This is perfect energy for Tara as she wanes.  Tara is impeccably mannered at all times – until she is pushed.

Today is big magic.  Use the energy wisely and be mindful of your feelings and where you are placing your attention because all attention is empowered today, regardless of the focus.  If you find yourself getting “negative” or going off center, use the sea gull’s energy to fly another way.  Stay close to the shore.

Hello everyone!  It is nice to be back!

There are two paths to choose between today.  One involves moving quickly through situations, putting ourselves through things that are avoidable, and putting undue pressure on ourselves.  This path will cause us to burn out quickly and stop things in their tracks.

The other path involves perseverance and slow progression, moving through challenges without depleting all of our resources, and being gentle with ourselves.  This path will sustain us through the day and keep everything moving forward.  Slow and steady wins the race.

Today’s energy favors brainstorming and ideas.  The creative powers inherent in Balsamic Moon phases is a bonus.  So if you are planning how to go about something, stay open to new ideas.  The veils between our world and the world of Spirit are thinnest during Balsamic Moon phase.  It is the time when we prepare the fields of our minds for new intentions (or progression with an intention we set for the year) that will blossom during the upcoming lunar month.  Negativity needs to be weeded out during Balsamic phase, so we are discarding thoughts related to personal limitation, fears of inadequacy, shame over something from the past, and the belief that we deserve what we get.  We deserve the highest and best.  Fear is the only thing that blocks this.

MUCH HAS BEEN cleared away in recent days. Through their square aspect last week, Pluto and Uranus have been doing a lot of work with us.

Pluto is a master at stripping off many layers of how we have learned to define ourselves, taking us down to the basic foundation of who we are. Once in the presence of that Essential Self, we encouraged to rebuild — but in new ways, as who we are and what we want to create has been changed.

And, Uranus is the master of surprise — the unexpected event that shocks us at first, but eventually liberates us to embrace some new experience or way of life. Once we catch our breath (and this can take some time), we can start to imagine how to rebuild our lives, even more authentically than before.

THIS WEEK is about adapting to the changes, trying to wrap our brains around the new reality that has brazenly taken over our familiar and comfortable landscape, and starting to brainstorm the possibilities from here. Most likely, the actual reconstruction process is a ways off, after we’ve had some time to think through what’s possible and where we want to go next.

To help us in this regard, we have an alignment between three planets — Jupiter, Venus and Mercury — in Gemini on Monday and Tuesday. Gemini is the sign of the Idea Generator, the Communicator, and the Networker. This alignment supports our talking things over and coming up with ideas. Gemini is also a mutable sign, which will help us be more flexible in our thinking and open to new perspectives.

WHILE THESE THREE planets are in alignment, Uranus forms a quintile aspect with the group — and while Uranus almost always involves some surprises, with a quintile, there is also opportunity.

Astrologer Bil Tierney writes in his book Dynamics of Aspect Analysis that a quintile has “occult, transcendent undertones,” and “is considered to symbolize an aspirant’s creative soul alignment with the Will of the Cosmos.” He also explains:

“The quintile enables one to construct (mental) form in an ideal manner that most perfectly reflects the archetypal purpose of that form… To bring the promise of the quintile into productive use could suggest that the individual first understand and accept that mind and matter are essentially one and the same.”

THIS QUINTILE between Uranus and Jupiter-Venus-Mercury provides us with the opportunity — and challenge — to rise above the mind’s natural perception of recent events, and to find new ways to think about what has occurred.

We have the ability to harness the creative power of our minds and to find positive possibilities in the midst of what appears to be destruction. This is a conscious exercise that is not necessarily easy, but it should help us both accept what has occurred and align more fully with “the Will of the Cosmos” as we go forward from here.

THE REST of the planetary interactions are grouped at the end of the week. Three planets change signs — Mercury and Venus enter Cancer, and Mars goes into Gemini — which will help us take our next steps forward.

On Saturday, the Sun forms aspects to both Pluto and Uranus, bringing more of the consequences of the recent changes into our awareness. Since the Uranus-Sun aspect is an opportunistic sextile, we are assisted in seeing new potentials, if we choose. And, although the Pluto-Sun aspect requires some adjustment, if we are willing to think outside the box and let go of preconceptions about what’s possible, this influence can also help us move past places where we’ve been feeling blocked.

LIFE IS MOVING quite rapidly these days — it seems new challenges arise almost daily, but thankfully, solutions are not far behind. Like adept surfers, we are learning not to attach to either the highs or the lows, but to maintain our center amidst the waves.

The energies of the May 24/25 full moon eclipse in Sagittarius coincide with the Festival of Goodwill to help anchor and amplify the new time on planet Earth. The Festival of Goodwill each year seeks to create a unified field of love, corporation and peace, and over the next few days, those energies will be amplified by the powerful lunar eclipse.

Jupiter Highlights Expansion During the May 24/25 Eclipse

Expansion is a central theme of this lunar eclipse in Sagittarius. Jupiter, as lord of the eclipse, highlights expansion, new visions, prosperity and abundance.

A lunar eclipse occurs during a full moon when the earth moves exactly between the sun and moon, effectively short-circuiting their natural connection. The lunar eclipse occurs at 4° Sagittarius and its effects are being experienced by many. The effects of some eclipses can be felt three months or more prior to an eclipse and for up to a year afterward.

Eclipses are major turning points at both the collective and individual levels. The sign of an eclipse offers clues as to the themes that are due for a change. At the personal level, the planets and houses impacted by an eclipse offer insights into the transformative changes that beacon to us on the road ahead.

During the May 24/25 eclipse, we are asked collectively and individually to examine if anything stands in the way of our spiritual expansion, visions and ability to receive the love and abundance that is our natural birthright. Sagittarius seeks the path of expansion, justice, generosity, abundance, prosperity and optimism. Everyone feels the effects of an eclipse differently. The type of impact and its intensity and duration depends on where an eclipse falls in a person’s astrology chart. Interpreting the Symbols of Events Unfolding during an Eclipse

It is helpful to observe details of events that happen during this time and interpret the symbols of these events just as you when interpret the symbols of a dream. This is a good technique to use any time, but the heightened energies of the eclipse make this time ripe for powerful insights and breakthroughs that can change the course of one’s life.

Coming Home to Center

This is a time to examine the ways in which we may be overextended. In order to step more fully into the new time it’s important to build a strong foundation to support our explorations in consciousness. It may be challenging to build this foundation when we are overextended in ways that drain our energy and distract our focus. Thought viruses, for example, tend to capture and enslave our attention in ways that are both depleting and destructive. As we bring our energy into harmony and balance and focus it toward fulfilling our spiritual purpose, we are able to make the most of the opportunities afforded by this eclipse.

Joining the Festival of Goodwill in Consciousness

This eclipse coincides with the Festival of Goodwill, a time when the veils between dimensions thin and we’re far more able to tune into cosmic energy radiated by high spiritual beings, and from the stars and constellations that radiate very high spiritual energy. The full moon during Gemini is a time when people of every spiritual path join together in consciousness to focus spiritual energy needed to build a world of justice, unity, love and peace. Everyone everywhere is able to join the Festival of Goodwill in consciousness. Even if you are unable to tune in at the exact time of the eclipse, you can enter a meditative state anytime in the next few days and allow yourself to be transported to the festival.

Today’s energy involves communications of all types. We are driven toward that which feels safe and secure and being where and with whom we feel comfortable. Any feelings of lack or deficiency in these areas will surface to show us that change is needed. Pay attention not just to what people are telling you, but also to their actions. Is there something you have seen before but disregarded?

It may get quite “noisy” today, so let’s practice a new twist on the shamanic technique of being like a wise old owl inside a tree by becoming the tree. To facilitate this, the “owl tree” picture is posted again. Remember, the tree is solidly rooted but sways with the wind.

Disseminating Moon Phase – Moon in Leo Darkness continues to lift as something from the past returns to be brought into the light.  Today’s energy carries a revision of some element of the past that will be carried into the future.  This could be a change of heart, a shift in attitude, the recovery of something that brought you joy, rewriting an old story of your life, or rediscovering something important on your vision quest this month.  All in all this causes a shift in formation. If the past comes back to you in a way that you don’t like, before you turn away consider if there is a lesson there that will help you now.  You may not want to look, but remember that this is happening today for a reason.  As we descended like the phoenix during the last moon phase, we sloughed off anything that no longer serves our highest and best.  So the energetic effects of anything from the past that we were carrying around were burned off.  Now all we have to do is recognize this.  If we continue to carry it is only because we are attached to it in some way in our minds.  The energetic elements no longer exist.  We carry it only if we somehow want to carry it.  That means it’s on you if you continue to keep it around.  The Sun, Gaia-Sophia, and the other divine beings in the Galactic Center are totally transforming energy fields and it is a great gift.  Holding on to lower energetic frequencies while higher spiritual frequencies are entering will only make us miserable.  It sounds cliche to say leave it behind, but truly it is a matter of choosing to do so.  This is a time of vibrant new beginnings, not a time for holding on to what is outworn. We’re continuing on our quest through the last day of the Third Quarter Moon phase and this means we hold anticipation for what we will find by then.  It’s still in progress, so don’t give up if you feel like you aren’t on track.  You are.  Trust the process.
